BLAIR’S HANDPICKED JUDGES

In yet another lurch into single-party banana republic status Tony Blair’s top legal appointee, Lord Irvine, is now implying judicial promotion based on lawyers political allegiances. In what former Home Secretary Michael Howard denounced as, ‘an outrageous and fundamental corruption of the office of Lord Chancellor’ Tony Blair’s henchman, Lord Derry Irvine peddled seats at a fundraising dinner in return for donations to the Labour Party to ‘secure a second term’.

The lowest ticket price was placed at £200. Those sections of the media nominally independent of government control have condemned the move as narrowly disguised bribes for promotion but the consequences to democracy are far direr than the handing in of ‘plain brown envelopes’ containing dirty money.

THE ULTIMATE STITCH-UP

This is a golden (sic) opportunity for the Lord Chancellor and his cronies to identify lawyers’ individual loyalty to the Blair regime. Lawyers who failed to attend the overpriced shindig on February 7th may be assumed not to have the Labour Party’s interests at heart. Those who did attend will be loyalty-graded by the size of their contribution.

It is ludicrous to suggest as some apologists have that it will be impossible for Irvine to identify who gave what amount. By its very nature this bash will be 100% attended by the Labour Party’s legal toadies each looking at what is on the other toady’s plate.

These power-bribes will be made out to the Labour Party as a business expense and written off as tax-deductible. All cheque sources will be identifiable as will the amounts proffered.

SCALES OF JUSTICE TIPPED TOWARDS THE BLAIR REGIME

It is ‘Tony-crony’ Lord Irvine who decides who among lawyers are promoted to judge and Queens Counsel level; positions that carry enormous influence and bring immense wealth. It is assumed that from 2002 judges and Queens Counsel presiding over English court trials will be brown-nosed appointees of the omnipotent Labour Party based on their political leanings.

The scam has been described as a ‘thoroughly alarming prospect based on the judicial systems of the thoroughly evil one-party states as once existed in Eastern Europe.’

One newspaper describing the swindle says: "It is believed to be the first time in history that a Lord Chancellor, who as head of the judiciary is supposed to be politically impartial, has made a direct appeal for funds from lawyers whose careers he can make or break."

"ASTONISHING!"

Top criminal law barrister Ian Lawrie said: "I find it astonishing that our most senior judge is effectively setting out a stall for the Labour Party. Michael Howard, Former Home Secretary and himself a Queens Counsel said on BBC1’s ‘Breakfast with Frost’, ‘It is a fundamental corruption of the office and the Lord Chancellor should resign.’

An inquiry has been demanded into what has been openly condemned as ‘an abuse of power’ by the leading human rights barrister, Owen Davies, QC. Anthony Scrivener QC, a former chairman of the Bar said " . . . it was totally unprecedented.’ Adding: ‘The letter was very intimidating – a lot of people feel they have to turn up if they want to apply to become a QC.’

EVIL TURN OF EVENTS

This evil turn of events means that future judges presiding over English trials will base the court’s proceeding, their summing up and their sentencing from a Marxist perspective which they feel properly reflects government policy.

Those prisoners whose activities, lifestyles, class or political allegiances are considered in conflict with the Blair regime can expect little mercy whilst those considered to be politically correct will find the scales of justice weighed much in their favour.

The former Home Secretary echoing Voltaire statement, ‘All that is necessary for he triumph of evil is that good men do nothing.’ condemned voter apathy. Though himself a liberal of Eastern European lineage he believed: "The real danger is that this is happening so often under this government that people are beginning to take it as the norm and shrug their shoulders and say, ‘Well, there you go!’
