Irving Trial on BBC Radio 4
To: mailto: letters@standard.co.uk Letter to the Editor Evening Standard 8 November 2001 Subject: Irving Trial on Radio 4 David's 'awful' ditty versus Goliath's 'lawful' lying Sir Noting your "Don't Miss" advice as recommended in your listening schedule to BBC Radio 4's programme on The Irving Trial: What Really Happened, I tuned in. And was not disappointed. But why did we miss being offered an opportunity to compare the all-important full text given of Irving's racist-marriage ditty to his 9 month old baby daughter, with the nitty-gritty of the Yom Kippur prayer Irving mentioned that he'd like to have extracted from his anti-gentile libel opponent Deborah Lipstadt if she had not refused to take the stand? Then we could have understood what "Goliath global endeavour" David Irving's libel trial illustrates his action was up against. Indeed as a race activist, had Deborah really wanted to earn her claim, she could "have bested him" just by reciting that unifying prayer on Yom Kippur which authorizes that Jews may lie in a gentile (non-Jewish) court of law.
